Eurovision Choir: 2021 Edition is Cancelled

It has been confirmed that the third edition of Eurovision Choir has now been cancelled. The event was due to take place this year.

Interkultur, the choral organisation who work alongside the EBU to organise Eurovision Choir confirmed that the contest would not take place this year. The reason behind the cancellation was not specifically stated, but it would be assumed that it is due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The statement is as follows,

‘Unfortunately, the third edition of Eurovision Choir will no longer take place in 2021. As soon as we are able to announce more details on a future edition of the vent, you will find the information on our website and social media accounts’

Eurovision Choir first took place in 2017, and was set to take place every two years. The first contest took place in Riga, Latvia while Sweden hosted the second contest in Gothenburg. The contests were held in July and August.
